Tools to Help You Sell More
Have your own site or blog? Then our tools allow you to create a shop which you can embed directly into your site. That way your customers can browse and buy without ever leaving your site. Here's a great example of how one shop-owner is using it.
To get the code you need, just head here (you may need to log in first) and select the "Embed Shop" option next to whichever of your shops you want it for.
You'll be able to personalise the size of the shop, shop colours, borders and all the usual stuff.
Got a Facebook fan page? Then use our Facebook app and people will be able to browse your products from within Facebook.
To add the app to your fanpage all you need to do is…
1 – Click here.
2 – On the left hand side of that page there is a menu with “add to my page” on it. Click that.
3 – Go to your fanpage – You’ll see a link in the lefthand column entitled “Merchandise”. Click that.
4 – Here you'll need to input your unique URL. If you don't have that to hand check the section directly below.
You can change the name of the page from “Merchandise” to anything you like by going to the “edit info” link at the top of your fanpage, then “Apps”, then Cotton Cart – Edit Settings.
Your Own Personalised Shop Address
Don't forget that you have http://yourshop.cottoncart.com as an address. Make sure you plaster it all over your Facebook, Myspace, Twitter, email signatures, newsletters and blog. If no-one knows you've got a shop, they can't buy your stuff, right? Don't know what your personalised URL is? Just head to your account page, right click on the relevant shop, and copy the address. Hey presto! You can paste that link anywhere!
Also, don't forget that you can add all your social media links, embed YouTube videos and audio tracks, and add a profile image plus information about yourself and your merchandise in your shop. Just click the "Edit" button under your shop logo and fill in all the info.
On the right-hand side of your product or shop you'll see a Facebook icon and a link that says "Invite Friends". Click here to send a message to your Facebook friends inviting them to check out your shop!
General Tips for Selling More Merchandise
- Make sure you're offering a range of products. The more options, the more likely you are to sell stuff.
- Keep your shop profile up to date. Add links, display your YouTube videos, news items and general info on your shop page.
- Give people free stuff when they buy your products. Just ask them to forward you their Cotton Cart purchase confirmation email, then you can send them a little something extra.
- Do limited edition items. Upload designs for a limited time and tell everyone about it. Maybe you want to do a different design each month.
